Specialising
in a wide range of alpines and rockery plants, dwarf rhododendrons,
conifers and perennials, Dalesview Nursery is a small, family run
nursery, situated 800 feet above sea level in the heart of the Bronte
country. We grow our plants outdoors, year round, thereby producing
hardy stock.
Our alpines for the
rockery, for troughs and for the scree include extensive
collections of kabschia and silver saxifrage and of primula. We also
have a selection of alpine-house plants, which, although hardy, do
require some protection from our winter wet.
Our range of dwarf/miniature conifers are an ideal accompaniment to
alpines planted in troughs and small rockeries.
We grow a range of dwarf shrubs, which includes Rhododendrons,
evergreen and deciduous Azaleas, Kalmias, Hebes, Holly and hardy
Fuchsia, offering a wide choice of shrubs suitable for acid or alkaline
soils. A selection of these shrubs will give structure and year-round
colour and interest in the garden.
Our range of perennials includes the ever popular hardy geraniums, with
species suitable for varying aspects, from the tiny alpine types,
suitable for troughs, to the slightly larger species for growing in the
rockery, and on to the indispensable, clump-forming species suitable
for beds and borders. Hardy Geraniums take some beating for their
excellent, easy-going, reliable garden performance.
We offer a basket/tub planting service locally, and produce to order, a
range of traditional moss lined hanging baskets for collection from the
nursery.
